* This course is ideal for individuals who already possess sailing experience and are seeking to acquire fresh experiences and miles for their log-book 1200NM!!!

* The course takes place in the autumn season, starting from Split, Croatia, and concluding in Valletta, Malta, with several planned stops on the mainland of Italy, Sicily and Palagruža Archipelago

* Very intensive course

* Unforgettable experience of starting the Middle Sea Race

* Every participant will acquire practical experience and theoretical knowledge of off-shore sailing.

* Course is conducted both in English and Croatian language (if Croatians will participate on the course)

* The course is suitable for future delivery skippers (yacht delivery skippers)

AIM/DESCRIPTION

 

The goal of the two-week "MILE HUNTER" course is to provide the knowledge necessary for the job of a skipper in the yacht charter industry through practical navigation at sea

 

ESSENTIAL FOR EXAM / NAUTICAL COURSE

 

- min 5 / max 8 participants per boat

- minimum one week experience on the boat, serving as a crew member

- adults only (minimum 21 years)

- valid skipper license B category – check            HERE!

- To secure your participation it is required to make a payment of 50% of the total fee to the company's bank account; Horvat turizam d.o.o.

 - The rest of the amount must be paid at least 10 days before start of the session

 - Horvat turizam d.o.o. in collaboration with credit card companies allows payment in instalments

DESTINATION  / ROUTE

 

Embark from Split or Trogir and embark on a trans-Adriatic sailing journey to Italy, covering a distance of 400 nautical miles with non-stop sailing to Regio di Calabria. This trip will take approximately two and a half days/nights (day/night sailing). The next destination is Portopalo in Sicily, Italy, followed by Valletta in Malta, where you can witness the exciting start of the legrendary Middle Sea Race at the port. Afterward, sail back to the Adriatic covering another 400 nautical miles, making stops in Brindisi, Italy, and the Palagruža islands in Croatia.

BOAT/VESSELS

 

In this course, we use various boat types, including a conventional sailboat prepared for off-shore sailing with minimum 4 cabins

INSTRUCTORS

 

-The instructors in this course are highly experienced skippers who have spent numerous years conducting courses and have extensive experience as off-shore skippers

 

WEATHER

 

- weather in Croatia and Mediterranean during autumn and spring is very variable with lots of wind and sun. Average temperature in October is 17 °C, in April 18°C and in May 21 °C
