RESUME

NAUTICAL COURSE - AIM / DESCRIPTION

The aim of the 4-week “BECOME A SKIPPER” course is to provide thorough practical and theoretical training and all preparation for the working license category “C” (Boat lieder up to up to 30 GT) Exam. After successfully passing the exam, skippers are employable in the local boating industry. No previous sailing experience is required to attend this course. Our attendants receive internationally recognized license.

NAUTICAL COURSE - LOCATION

Starting base marina Agana - Marina. Course is conducted in the central Adriatic. Theoretical lessons will be conducted in Split in Split Ship Management center for maritime studies.

BOAT / VESSELS

For this course we use various types of the boats: Beneteau first 36.7, Elan impression 434, Topper Omega 4,70 m (dinghy). All attendants will have lessons on one of the mentioned boats.

INSTRUCTORS

All instructors are very experience skippers, with experience in conducting the courses.

WEATHER

Weather in Croatia during autumn and spring is very variable with lots of wind and sun. Average temperature in October is 17 °C, in April 18 °C, and in May 21 °C.

ESSENTIAL FOR EXAM / NAUTICAL COURSE

  • Minimum 4, maximum 6 attendants per boat
  • Adults only (minimum 18 years of age)
  • First aid certificate
  • 2 passport photographs
  • Log Book (possible to purchase on spot – 20,00 euro)
  • Self medical examination (possible also on the spot in Split – 30,00 euro)

What to bring along for the course?

CLOTHES

Due to our climate in autumn and spring, it is best to bring plenty of shorts and T-shirts, warm cloths and weather gear with a few track suits for cool days and night sailing. The best is also to have sailing inshore suite. Winter glows and ski head hat, sunglasses, sun protection cream, hats/beanies etc. Shoes have to be soft-soled and non-marking. Sleeping bags are mandatory.

VISAS

No need for Visas for citizens of EU. Russian guests need VISA only out of season (1.6. – 15.9.).

BEDDING

We provide sheets, pillows and pillowcases for the boats, which will be changed weekly and laundered in the local marina. Your clothes can be laundered at the local laundry for about 2,00 euro/kg. You are required to bring a sleeping bag/duvet with you as well though we will provide extra blankets if needed.

TOILETRIES (not provided)

Towels, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, sun protection cream.

ACCOMODATION / FOOD

  • accommodation is provided during the courses aboard the yachts
  • food (extra): Pizza or daily menu in Croatia is about 5,50 euro, Beer/coke about 2,00 euro
  • all people on board buy food together. Money will be collected in cash on first day of each course week all in settlement with your crew and captain – regularly this amount is 50,00 euro

METHOD OF PAYMENT

The Registration Form is sent upon request, which must be filled in and returned. This filled application form must be followed by:

  • Bank confirmation for 50% of paid deposit (banking details will be given on receipt)
  • The balance is expected 1 week prior to commencement date of the course, or if you pay from Croatia you can pay with any credit card until first day of the course
